Athlete Information

 
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered:

Age

Typically targeting athletes aged 16-23 (exceptions considered based on performance/potential). Must be eligible to compete at State/National level events.

Performance Standard

Must demonstrate performance levels at or very near current National Championship qualifying standards for their primary event(s) and age group. Evidence of recent performance is required.

Commitment

Must exhibit exceptional dedication to training, including:
- Willingness and ability to attend required training sessions regularly (track and strength & conditioning).
- Demonstrated coachability and a positive training attitude.
- Commitment to the principles of long-term athletic development.
- Understanding and commitment to mandatory Strength & Conditioning adherence.

Residency

Must be able to consistently attend training sessions at our Lane Cove location(s).

Conduct Must agree to abide by the Maximum Effort Athlete Code of Conduct and act as a positive ambassador for the Academy.

(Note: While financial need is not a primary selection criterion, demonstrated resilience or overcoming adversity may be considered as part of the overall application review.)

Recipients of the Maximum Effort Elite Athlete Scholarship will receive, for a 12-month period:


Full Coaching Access

Unlimited access to all relevant scheduled group training sessions (Track, S&C, specific event groups).

High-Performance Support

Inclusion in the Tier 1 support structure, including:
- Detailed performance data tracking and analysis (Freelap/Tableau).
- Regular formal progress reviews and goal-setting sessions with coaches.
- Career Mentorship & Pathway Guidance.

Strength & Conditioning

Access to all prescribed S&C programming and coaching.

Treatment Services

A defined number (e.g., 4-6 per year, TBC) of complimentary treatment sessions (massage/dry needling/AK) based on coach recommendation/athlete need. Additional sessions at standard rates.

Academy Apparel

A complimentary Maximum Effort training apparel pack upon commencement.

Financial Support Eligibility

Eligibility to apply for Academy travel/financial assistance for designated National Championships (subject to the same criteria and budget availability as paying Tier 1 athletes).

(Note: The scholarship covers coaching and specified benefits only. It does not cover competition entry fees, personal travel costs beyond potential assistance grants, personal equipment, or external medical/allied health fees.)

Scholarship recipients are expected to:

Maintain Performance
Continue to strive for performance improvement and maintain a trajectory consistent with state/national level competition.

Uphold Commitment
Meet the Tier 1 commitment expectations regarding attendance (track & S&C), effort, communication, and adherence to the training program.

Be a Role Model
Act as a positive ambassador for Maximum Effort within the squad and the wider athletics community. Demonstrate leadership qualities.

Adhere to Policies
Strictly follow the Maximum Effort Athlete Code of Conduct, Anti-Doping policies (aligned with SIA), and other Academy guidelines.

Participate in Reviews
Actively engage in scheduled progress reviews with coaches.

Promotional Activities (Optional/With Consent)
Be willing to potentially provide testimonials or participate in occasional promotional activities (e.g., photos, website features) for the Academy, with specific consent obtained for each instance.
