How do we start?
- Book a free first session.
- Come along and meet the coaches.
- Fill in a short form.
- A coach gets back to you within 3 working days.
How do you keep my child safe?
We can only look after what we know about. So talk to us.
- Tell us about health issues before the first session. Asthma, allergies, diabetes, old injuries, medication. Tell us again if anything changes.
- Puffer or EpiPen? It comes to every session. In their bag, not left in the car.
- Sick? Stay home. Send us a message. Training sick spreads it round the squad and slows their recovery. Missing one session costs nothing.
- Feeling off at training? Dizzy, sick, short of breath, sharp pain. Tell a coach straight away and we stop them. Nobody gets in trouble for speaking up.
- Knock to the head? They stop and do not train again that day. Before they come back, a doctor needs to clear them.
- Sore shin or foot that gets worse when they run? Tell us early. It can be the start of a stress fracture, and early is easy to fix.
- Nervous before a race? That is normal. Olympians feel it too. We teach athletes to notice the nerves and still do their job.
- Drop off and pick up on time. Coaches look after athletes for the session. Running late? Let us know.
Message the coaches through the contact form, or email coach@maximumeffort.academy.
What if it rains, or something changes?
After heavy rain, council closes the grass 400m track and the grass inside it. We can still use the synthetic track, the long jump, and the javelin and throws circles, so most sessions still run. Every change goes on Telegram first.
